The bit in our name
A rolling road is a set of rollers the car sits on, so the engine can be put under proper load while the car stays still. It turns opinions about a car into numbers. Here is what that is actually good for.
Talk to us about a sessionIllustrative only — every car draws its own. Yours is measured on the day and you get the before and after.
Our rolling road is a Dynomax 5000BR chassis dyno. It takes front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive cars, and reads accurately up to 1,800hp at the wheels.

Real numbers, not brochure numbers
Power and torque measured at your own car’s wheels, on the day, in the condition it is actually in — not the figure it left the factory with.

Faults that only show under load
Some problems never appear on a test drive, because you cannot safely hold an engine at load on a public road. On the rollers you can, repeatedly, and watch exactly what the car does.
Ask about a session
You leave with the figures
Before and after, measured the same way on the same rollers. If a change was worth making the numbers say so — and if it was not, they say that too.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Dynotech based?
We're at Unit 10B RAC Estate, Park Road, Faringdon, Oxfordshire SN7 7BP — on the A420 between Oxford and Swindon, easy to find and easy to park.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:30pm, Saturday 9:00am–1:00pm. We're closed on Sundays.
What services do you offer?
Servicing, MOTs arranged for you with a trusted test station, engine diagnostics, brakes and clutches, tyres and wheel alignment, air-con and electrical work — plus rolling-road dyno and performance tuning.
Do you work on performance cars?
Absolutely. Alongside everyday servicing and repairs we offer rolling-road dyno tuning and performance work for all makes and models.
What actually happens on the rolling road?
Your car is strapped down with its driven wheels on the rollers and a large fan in front of it, then run through the rev range under load while power and torque are measured at the wheels. You get the figures before and after any work. For what a session costs and how long to allow, give us a ring.
Do the parts you fit come with a warranty?
Yes. Parts we fit carry the manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty — typically 3 or 12 months depending on the part. Ask us what applies to your job.
Can you collect and deliver my car?
Locally, yes — by arrangement and for a charge. It depends what is in the workshop that week, so give us a ring and we will tell you if we can fit it in.
Which areas do you cover?
Most of our work comes from within about 30 miles of Faringdon — all of Swindon and parts of Oxford. Customers also travel to us from London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Peterborough.
How do I book my car in?
Call us on 01367 358100 or email admin@dynotechautocentre.co.uk and we'll find a time that suits you.
